more people watching us going to bed than are waking up as normal. so good morning to everyone out there. hope you had a fun last night. hope you're doing all right right now. as far as what we're going to deal with as we go throughout the night tonight, into your new year's day, not a lot of storms to deal with. but we have unsettled weather. the outdoor hockey game in boston. snow showers, but nothing too bad. we'll see a lot of college football games down here in florida. we are going to see heavy rain. that will be interesting for the football games later on today. one little storm exiting as we watched the ball drop in times square. didn't really pour. it was a little uncomfortable. temperatures aren't that bad, but they will be sooner or later. colder air will filter into all areas of the east in the days ahead. a little bit of light snow southern new england, mixing with drizzle along the coast. also have areas of snow back through western new york. heavy snows coming down off lake michigan. really impressive lake effect bands heading towards kalamazoo, south of grand rapids
